About Us
Our mission is simple. Students helping students learn. That's it.
In a world of hyper-competitiveness (and now a rather scary virus), our mission is to create an environment where students could go to their peers or other students for help in understanding academic material.
We started in 2015, when our founder, Vedanth Ganesh (currently a freshman at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a part of their selective ACE Program), was asked to tutor when he was in 7th grade. Originally, he only focused on English, Spanish, and Math. Since then, we have branched out into Standardized Test Prep, and our tutors have strong credentials in the subjects they teach and have all placed in the 99th percentile for the SAT and the ACT (see more in the "Why Us?" section!)
Why are we called NutCracker Tutoring?
The College Board logo is an acorn- and by preparing our students for whatever tests are thrown at them, we crack that nut right open.
We may just be students, but with the conviction to learn and help others learn as well, there's nothing that can stop all of us from succeeding.
What We Do (We do a lot)
| Standardized Tests | Our tutors have scored 99th percentile on all three PSATs and the SAT (1500+) and a PERFECT score on the ACT, and we would like nothing more than for other students to achieve the same results. Our standardized test prep curriculum is derived from a combination of multiple test-prep courses and consists of practice problems and test hacks for better results. |
| Math | Our tutors have taken AP/IB Calculus and Statistics courses and have scored very highly on the SAT/ACT Math sections. Furthermore, they have one a plethora of math awards, including some awarded by the National Merit Corporation! From basic addition to multivariable calculus and finite math, we can help. |
| Sciences | Science is fun- but science can also be tough. Never fear, we're here to help! Our tutors are proficient in all science subjects, having received As in AP Psychology, Geography, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and having won the IJAS State Champion Award for Biochemistry (twice), and having received 5s on the AP Psychology exam. This isn't rocket science (though our tutors could teach that too, if needed)- From Biology to Computer Science majors as tutors, when it comes to science, we have your back. |
| English | We tutor multiple aspects of the English for elementary to college students, including reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and more. Our tutors have scored a 99% on the AP English III final exam and have excellent English results on the SAT, ACT, and AP tests. |
| Foreign Languages | Our tutors have tutored Spanish, French, and Chinese in their school's academic resource center every Friday during school hours, and are inductees in the Spanish, French, and Chinese Honors Societies. They have earned the seal of Biliteracy from their state and are very proficient at communicating. |
| Essay Editing | We've edited college application essays and gotten clients into their dream school. We've edited regular, old school essays and have gotten our clients As. We've trained students to write for the AP Exams and for the SAT optional Essay portion. And since our tutors are still students, we edit our own essays as well! We're good at writing, and we can make you good too. |
| Computer Science | Our computer science tutors have thorough experience wth Java, C, and Python through prestigious schools like the UT Austin Computer Science program. They designed this site, and have worked on larger scale projects as well that have place 1st at global competitions. We can teach you how to reach these goals as well. |
